Dorothy Frear BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist
About Me
My professional life over the past 25 years has been in Further Education as a tutor of 16 to 19 year old students and adults. I am involved with students both at subject level and in a more pastoral role as a progress tutor. Over the years, witnessing great changes in the lives of these young adults has led me to my present retraining as a counsellor.
Qualifications and Training
Working in post 16 education for the past 25 years, I have seen many changes in the lives of young people. I have become aware of a need for help which cannot be met within the pastoral care of a progress tutor. This has resulted in a deepening interest and consequent training in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My particular interest lies in counselling for young people, families and adults who are struggling to manage the many transitions, dilemmas and pressure that results from todays’ modern living.
Qualifications
Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy 2013 York St John University
Certificate in Counselling 2011 York St John University

I deliver CPD training on working proactively with young people to support their transition to independence and adulthood.
